E037 Engineering Workshop on Bored Pile Foundation Design 1 Day

BEM Approved 7 CPD Hours (Ref No: IEM10/PP/006/W) Normal Price RM 650.00
(If 2 or more RM 500.00 per person Only)
Introduction
SECTION 1:
• Practical Bored Pile Foundation Design: Design concept, guides & checklists for comprehensive design, application & limitations.
• Guidelines for planning, evaluation & interpretation of SI for pile foundation design.
1. Checklists for what can go wrong in design & construction of pile foundation design.
2. Checklist for pile foundation design report preparation.
• Case histories to illustrate how to design bored piles with particular reference in estimation of axial, lateral load capacity, and settlement. The scheme of design validation will also be illustrated and presented.

SECTION 2: Case study 1
• Project brief related to site conditions/site contour plan, loadings and Client’s requirements for a mixed commercial housing project consisting of one block of high-rise RC buildings with deep basement car park near a high slope where retaining walls are required. The project site geology is Kenny Hill formation & the site terrain is generally hilly. Site plan with necessary details will be given.

SECTION 3: Case study 2
• Similar to case study 1, but in limestone formation.

SECTION 4: Case study 3
• Several maintained load test/PDA results for bored piles and will be given for the participants to evaluate, interpret, assess and recommendation whether the results are technically acceptable or otherwise.
• Comments & advices for the case studies will be discussed.
